Mr. DiPietro:
SUBJECT: MARINE CORPS RESERVE TRAINING
Thank you for visiting us in providing a useful and entertaining. Of instruction on 20 January, 2007 during the “Back In The Saddle” training for 230 Marines from Marine Air Support Squadron Six (MASS-6) and Marine Wing Support Squadron (MWSS) 472, Detachment Bravo.
The topic of “You don't have to be perfect to be great" fit in perfectly with the goal of BITS, which is to pause at the start of a new year and evaluate how we are doing business, personally and professionally.
Since your presentation, I have been approached by Marines who were positively impacted by your observations and advice. A Chief Warrant Officer felt the confirmation as he had tried to adhere to the same principles that you discussed in leading his Marines. A Master Gunnery Sergeant was encouraged to take a new approach with his adult son who has made a habit of giving in and giving up when faced with challenges. I was reminded of the importance of regularly thinking those who work for me and the hidden value in making mistakes.
The professional manner in which you conducted the presentation showed that you take the time to prepare. We appreciate your researching the meaning of our Marine jargon and then using it appropriately. I certainly hope to work with you again and wish you success.
